We’re extending face-to-face appointments

From Monday 6th July the 5 Hubs across North Yorkshire will extend face-to-face appointments.

Since lockdown began in England, North Yorkshire Horizons (NYH) drug and alcohol service hubs have been open for critical interventions only. All assessments, appointments and groups with a few exceptions have been over the phone or online.

Our priority is the safety of our service users, staff and volunteers. NYH staff have been working really effectively with people over the phone and online but that doesn’t work for every service user and everyone’s circumstances, so we’re carefully re-introducing face to face meetings where these are safe and appropriate.

NYH have re-organised the physical spaces within the Hubs to make them as safe as possible, following advice from Government and our Health & Safety experts. In addition, we have established new processes and procedures to keep everyone as safe as we can. We will prioritise face to face appointments for those who need them, maintain social distancing, wear PPE where applicable, and adhere to a very strict cleaning regime.

NYH stresses that people should always attend appointments at the allotted time – not attending on time may result in a missed appointment, needing to wait outside the Hub (please maintain social distance from others) or being offered another allotted time, due to restrictions on numbers that we can safely have in the buildings. People should call the service on 08000 141480 or visit our website if they need any support outside of appointment times.

If you or anyone you live with has any of the COVID symptoms (high temperature, a new continuous cough, or loss of smell or taste – https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/symptoms/  please do not come to your allotted appointment at the hub and self-isolate – please call the Single Point of Contact to rearrange. If you have symptoms please arrange to be tested and do not leave your home for any other reason – further details on how to do this are available at https://www.northyorks.gov.uk/coronavirus-covid-19-testing.  This also includes information on Test and Trace.

Please remember that North Yorkshire County Council can support you if you need to isolate – please visit their website for more details or speak with our team who can help you – https://www.northyorks.gov.uk/help-you-during-coronavirus-covid-19.
