World Book Day celebrated

World Book Day was celebrated in the Selby hub in Gowthorpe, opposite the town hall, with the launch of a book swap.

The books swap idea came from our monthly service user forum here in Selby.  Staff and service users have brought in books for people to read and enjoy. We’ve got everything including fiction, cook books, children’s books and biographies.

And along with the books, we’ve got information and advice on how to access further education. Please do drop in and lose yourself in a good book! The staff at the Selby hub got into the spirit of it all and took the opportunity to celebrate the annual event by dressing up as characters from books.

Sam Thomson, lead practitioner at the hub, said: “A great day was had by all involved.”

The service user forum meets the first Monday of every month in the hub. It’s for current and ex-service users to get involved with the delivery of the service. Feel free to come along with ideas, suggestions and your comments!
