A Space to Relax

Groupworker Kerry Bass is setting up a therapeutic space within the Northalleron Hub where people can come and learn how to relax.

As a qualified Occupational Therapist, Kerry will be using her own research (recently published in the national publication OT News) to inform how this space will look and feel.

She said: “We are developing a multi-sensory space which will be painted with calming colours and use bubble tubes, different lighting, a variety of seating, a music system and a selection of sensory equipment designed to help people feel calmer.

“We hope service users can learn what calms them in this environment and then use this at home to enhance their recovery.”
