North Yorkshire Horizons clients, volunteers and staff have been celebrating the service’s fourth anniversary with a series of events.
Mark Vidgen, Assistant Director of the service, said: “We are proud of what we have achieved in the four years since we began our contract.
“The strong partnership of organisations that make up Horizons is continually striving to provide the best possible service for the people of North Yorkshire.”
The team is working to reduce the harm caused by drug and alcohol use to both individuals and communities and operates from hubs in Harrogate, Northallerton, Skipton, Selby, Scarborough and from outreach centres in smaller communities.
Staff at Scarborough threw a traditional birthday party and invited clients along to mark the anniversary.
Niki Ruff, said: “Everyone had a great time. We had balloons, party hats and birthday banners around the hub. There was a games room open all day – service users were able to play different traditional board games, card games and party games with NYH staff.
“Staff brought in their favourite games from home and also we had a buffet – the staff… …made the food or bought it and brought it in. It was lovely.”
An event was held in Selby. And more events were to go ahead in Northallerton and Scarborough.Back to News
